Connecting Communities: MnK Niseko at Hokkai-Gakuen University and Temple University Japan

At MnK Niseko, we prioritize community engagement and cultivating meaningful connections. This spring, we were thrilled to have the privilege of participating in two events that reflect these core values.

In early March, Hokkai-Gakuen University, a Hokkaido university based in Sapporo, invited us to their annual career fair. During our visit, we interacted with Japanese students looking to enter the workforce while sharing insights about work at MnK, our company culture, and life in Niseko. It was a memorable experience, not only because it was our first time joining the event, but because it also allowed our staff to network and connect with local students.

We also participated in Temple University Japan's annual spring career fair for the second consecutive year. We were thrilled to be part of this event again and engage with the vibrant, international community of students and graduates eager to explore opportunities beyond Tokyo. The turnout at the event was exceptional, reflecting the enthusiasm and curiosity of the Temple University Japan community.

Two of MnK's own, Samantha and Arie, joined our senior members for the event. What made it special, though, is that both are alums of Temple University Japan who found their way to MnK through the university's career fair- a testament to the fruitful connections forged at events like these.

"In my final year at TUJ, I developed an interest in marketing and looked for job opportunities in Japan, hoping to enter business and marketing. Initially, this was a challenge due to my limited fluency in Japanese; however, I discovered MnK at the TUJ career fair and was eventually offered a digital marketing assistant role for MnK's EdVenture department. I acquired new skills not only in marketing but also in being able to contribute more to the whole team…Each day is an adventure, navigating marketing dynamics while taking opportunities for personal growth." - Samantha Harada, MnK Edventure Marketing Creator

We are grateful for the unique experiences we shared during our recent engagements with Hokkai-Gakuen University and Temple University Japan. From insightful conversations with students to reconnecting with alums, these events have helped to reaffirm our commitment to forging meaningful connections and supporting the aspirations of individuals within our community both here in Hokkaido and back in Tokyo.

We are excited about future events and engagement opportunities, building upon the relationships we've established and creating new ones. To all those we had the pleasure of meeting at these career fairs, thank you for inspiring us with your enthusiasm and ambition. We can't wait to see where our paths may cross next.

MnK Niseko is still on the search for graduates, if you or you know of someone who may be interested, please see the list of positions here. If you are in search of an internship opportunity with us in Niseko, click here to apply!
